Question

I am wondering what happens if I let my German residence permit run out? I want to go to another European country. Does anyone know if I can go there for 3 months under my Canadian passport (3 months no permit required) after the expiration of my current German permit, or if I need to leave Europe for 3 months and then return?

Answers

  • Unfortunately, the Schengen visa gives you 3 months in the zone, so even if you change countries it counts against as 3 months.
  • You just need to leave the zone.
